If we were to end
My life would turn bleak
The shattering of my heart
Would silent the streets

My tears would replace
The falling of rain
Nervousness' sweat
Would cause all the stains

If we were to end
My stomach would churn
And cramp with regret
Of what I hadn't learned

I would babble all night
Of what we could have been
Oh, what were to happen
If we were to end

And the ravens would laugh
At the pain in our hearts
And the street cats would cry
At the obvious parts

For our sorrows would go
On without terminating
It would be such an ache
That would be proceeding

If we were to end
The days would go by
In which I would rather
Be readying to die

But if we were to end
Then it must be true
That the we I am speaking
Of is not me nor you

For what we have is perfect
In my eyes at best
And for they who are clueless
They must have guessed

That we are together
For better or worse
And if we were to end
Well…that would be perverse

Just to ponder is frightening
But I think of, then
